Ross is a BAFTA award-winning documentary maker, actor and author who first rose to prominence in EastEnders. Since 2006 he has received international recognition for his acclaimed documentaries. He began his career on stage with John Thaw and Richard Wilson before becoming best known for his award-winning role as Grant Mitchell in EastEnders. After leaving the show he starred in ITV’s drama Ultimate Force and returned to acting in 2023 with the Channel 5 drama Blindspot. Ross developed a reputation as one of television’s most fearless documentary makers. His series Ross Kemp on Gangs, inspired by a meeting with a member of the Bloods gang in California, won a BAFTA for Best Factual Series. He went on to film Ross Kemp in Afghanistan between 2007 and 2012 with several army regiments, earning further award recognition.
